CPEC

Cattle Performance Enhancement Company

Cattle Performance Enhancement Co., LLC was formed in 1994 by John Brethour, Wade Taylor, D.V.M. and Tom Noffsinger, D.V.M.  At that time, John Brethour was a beef research scientist for Kansas State University Agricultural Research Center in Hays, Kansas.

Dr. Taylor owns Oakley Veterinary Service, P.A. in Oakley, Kansas. His professional expertise lies in feedyard consultation. Dr. Noffsinger is an independent feedyard consultant with expertise in cattle handling, from Benkelman, Nebraska.

Dr. Taylor and Dr. Noffsinger were interested in marketing the software that Professor Brethour had been researching for several years. Through their work as feedyard veterinary consultants, they recognized a strong need for this cutting-edge technology, especially in the interest of keeping the beef market competitive. Their recognition of the industry's need to produce lean choice meat for today's consumers in the most cost-efficient way, led to this association.

With the recent passing of John Brethour, Paul Ritter, D.V.M. of Oakley Veterinary Service, P.A., has taken on additional responsibilities related to ultrasound. Paul is an accomplished ultrasound specialist and a minority owner of the company.

Since January of 2000, Lynn Allen from Stratford, Texas has been functioning as head of CPEC’s Sales & Marketing.  Lynn came to CPEC from a 26-year career with MoorMan Feeds as an Area Sales Manager.  Lynn and Paul are an integral part of promoting this product through fieldwork and technician training. The goal to provide this technology to more and more of the cattle industry helps to reach the goal of providing the highest quality beef at the most affordable costs.

CPEC has the exclusive marketing rights to this software patented by John Brethour and Kansas State University.
